Regarding Dahlias in Crisp Cantelope & Calypso Coral

This weeks Dynamic Duos color challenge was perfect for using my new Regarding Dahlias stamp set!

I received several beautiful swap cards using this set at the Stampin' Up! Convention and ordered it as soon as I got home.
The card base is Crisp Cantelope.  I added a patterned layer of Crisp Cantelop from the In Color Designer Series Paper stack.  Then I stamped the Dahlias in Calypso Coral on a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I found a remnant of the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon to tie around it, and stamped the "Hi" in Calyspo Coral and punched out the layers with my 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches.  I used a bit of Calypso Coral Bakers Twine to make it look like the tag was floating.  Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the results!  I think I need to get busy designing a card class using this stamp set.  What do you think?

Happy Stamping,

Scrapping to the Tune of a Dynamic Duo (DD#22)

I've been playing my the new Festival of Prints Designer Paper Stack from Stampin' Up! and found this fun color challenge blog called Dynamic Duos.

The most recent challenge was:

And this is my scrapbook layout:

Each sheet of the DSP is 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".  I just love how well they work for mounting photos!  This particular pattern reminds me of the cozy flannel shirts my grandfather would wear.
I found some old photos of a weekend trip my family took at a B&B in Cazenovia back in Jan 2001 to celebrate my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary together and placed them on the photo mounts to give you a better idea of how it fits together.  To finish these pages I still need to add my journaling and a few embellishments.

Cardstock:  12x12 Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, and Crumb Cake
DSP:  Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack - 48 sheets for just $6.95 #126904

If you like this layout then save the date for my next Scrapbook in an Afternoon Class on Sunday, December 2nd.  I have another 18 pages made to go with this one for a total of 20 pages.  That's a whole album!
