Color Challenge

It's time to play along with another Fab Friday challenge!  This time it was a color challenge.

This is not a color combination I've used before.  I do like So Saffron and Basic Gray, but I'm still not sold on how Sahara Sand fits in the mix : )  I've been wanting to use my Floral Fusion Sizzlit to create some cute little layered flowers and this is the card I came up with:
Cardstock:  Basic Grey, Sahara Sand, So Saffron
Ink:  Basic Grey
Accessories:  Floral Fusion Sizzlit, Rhinestone Jewels, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

An Event-Full Weekend: The Graduation Party

When the anniversary party ended at 4pm we drove back to Lansing for our friend Hayley's belated surprise high school graduation party.  Her boyfriend had invited her to a cook out at the park with a "few" friends, but when she arrived there was a whole party waiting for her.  It was cute - she even made cookies to bring to her own party!

Hayley's a coffee lover so I got her a bag of her favorite blend from Ithaca Coffee Co.
She tends towards a vintage style so I thought this gift bag would be perfect, and again designed a card to match using my new Everything Eleanor stamp set.
 Here's a closer look:
Stamps:  Everything Eleanor
Paper:  Whisper White and Pretty in Pink Cardstock, Subtles Designer Prints Paper Stack
Ink:  Early Espresso, Melon Mambo & Pretty in Pink
Accessories:  Adhesive Pearl Jewels, Paper Snips, Apothecary Framelits

An Event-Full Weekend: The 25th Anniversary Party

On Sunday afternoon we met with friends and family at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Syracuse to surprise my Aunt Jan & Uncle Steve with a party for their 25th Wedding Anniversary.  Since their actual anniversary was August 1st they were completely unsuspecting.  All they knew was that my cousin Justine & her new husband Steve were in town for my brother's wedding shower and that since Steve had never eaten at Dinosaur they wanted to do lunch before flying back to MD.

The cake was designed to look like their actual wedding cake.  It was a vanilla cake with strawberry filling - so yummy!
And no celebration is complete without presents!  I love the colors and pattern of this gift bag and thought it was perfect for a silver anniversary  - so I designed my card around it.
