Hand Stamped Sentiments on a Snow Day

We weren't supposed to feel much of an impact for the big storm ravaging the East Coast - maybe 1"-2" starting late in the afternoon today.  Well, I guess this storm was pretty unpredictable because it started snowing here around 10am and hasn't stopped.  I was supposed to have a scrapbooking class this afternoon but my attendees decided they didn't want to be out driving around in that fine, misty, slimy snow so we cancelled.  Since I had planned to be home I went ahead and had a play day anyways.

I knew I needed to make a bunch of cards for an upcoming workshop swap.  My stamping group in Auburn always hosts a card swap along with their Stampin' Up! workshops.  The hostess gets to choose the theme.  This month's hostess is Steph and her theme is "milestones."  I was assigned the milestone of "New Home."  I searched Pinterest for a bit of inspiration and also decided to play along with Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge.

Here is the challenge:

HSSSC179
And here is the "New Home" swap card I created:
I tried my hand at a lil' bit of punch art using my Stampin' Up! punches.
Stamps:  Well Scripted (retired
Paper:  Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Midnight Muse, Rose Red, Comfort Cafe' DSP (retired)
Ink:  Midnight Muse
Accessories:  Triangle Punch, 1" Square Punch, Small Heart Punch, Doily, Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon (on the SU! clearance rack right now!)

I think a few of my "swappers" follow my blog - so if you're reading this be sure to leave me a comment and let me know if you like my card!

Take Care Mama Bird

The second card I created during my "play" time on Saturday afternoon followed the sketch from the Clean & Simple Challenge blog:

And used  the colors from the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge:
  This is my card:
I colored the different stamps from the Take Care set with my markers and then used my Bird Punch to pop out the little mama bird.  I placed a mini pearl for her eye.

Thanks for looking!

Creative "thank you" projects is the challenge today over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I thought this cute fabric rosette key fob and coordinating gift box that I made for one of my Stampin' Up! Workshop hostesses was just perfect! Erika Clark has a great step by step tutorial for the fabric rosette.
The Gift Box:
Stamps:  Tiny Tags #118592 $16.95, Daydream Medallions #126467 $26.95
Paper:  Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink:  Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze
Accessories:  Floral Frames Framelits #127012 $26.95, Bitty Box XL Die (retired)
Fabric Ribbon Rosette Key Fob:
Jumbo Sticky Rounds #127852 $4.95 I love these - They're like giant glue dots!
Twitterpated Fabric #125412 $9.95
Subtles Designer Buttons #119745 $8.95
Large Pearl Basic Jewels #125577 $4.95
Certainly Celery Ribbon (retired)
Felt (for the backing)
Hot Glue Gun
Silicone Craft Sheet #127853 $5.95 An absolutely must have for working with hot glue!  Nothing sticks to this sheet which makes clean up a breeze!

And here's another variation that I showed my Creative "Card"-iologist team members how to make at our last play date.  This rosette uses the retired Spring Vintage fabric from Stampin' Up!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping,
Jessica
